CSE closes on mixed note
The Colombo Stock Exchange closed on a mixed note today (01), with the ASPI gaining by 1.09 per cent to 6,050.17 points, while the S&P SL20 fell by 0.36 per cent to 2,454.43 points.
Market turnover amounted to Rs 3.24 billion, with 215.06 million shares traded over the course of the day.
Today marked the 42nd consecutive market day of Net Foreign Outflows (NFOs), setting a new record as foreign investors continued to flee the market due to uncertainty.
NFOs amounted to Rs 660.08 million, increasing NFOs in the calendar year to date to Rs 40.52 billion which is another record.
A third record was that out of the 148 market days that have transpired in the calendar year to date, the bourse has suffered NFOs in 131 of those days, i.e. – in 88.51 per cent of the market days that have transpired in the calendar year to date. The last time that the bourse enjoyed net foreign inflows was on 31 July, a sum of Rs 48.51 million.
