COVID deaths are on the rise again - DDGHS
There are indications of an increase in COVID deaths once again, Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath warns.
Considering the number of COVID deaths reported yesterday (25), he stressed that the count was not negligible and the matter should not be taken lightly.
Although it is still too early for health authorities and officials to provide definite facts, he advised the public to continue to be vigilant about the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
Another 29 COVID deaths were reported from Sri Lanka yesterday (25).
Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena confirmed that amongst the latest victims, of whom 12 were men and 17 were women, one was below 30 years of age, six victims were aged between 30-59 years, while the rest were aged above 60 years.
