COVID-19: Sri Lanka situation report
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health has said that the total number of COVID-19 patients has risen to 2,074 yesterday (04), after the identification of five new cases.
According to authorities, the new cases include returnees from Bangladesh, United States, Madagascar, and Qatar.
Thus far, 783 overseas returnees have tested positive for COVID-19.
The Unit further stated that 178 patients are currently receiving treatment for the virus, while 1,885 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
Meanwhile, 852 PCR tests were carried out yesterday (4), increasing the total number of PCR tests conducted to 12,876.
