COVID-19 relief worth Rs 2.4M for their protection – EPPTA

The German Embassy in Sri Lanka provided a grant aid worth Rs 2.4 million for COVID-19 relief measures to its implementation partner, the Eastern Province Preschool Teachers Association (EPPTA), the Embassy said on Monday (21).

This aid which covers 136 pre-schools in the Trincomalee District and includes the provision of hand sanitizers, disinfectants, thermometers, face shields and face masks which will enable these preschools to reopen in keeping with the instructions and health guidelines of the Health Ministry.

 German Ambassador Holger Seubert is keen that assistance for COVID19 relief be provided in remote areas and assisting the re-opening of schools in a safe manner, in particularly in areas where online learning is difficult, thus enabling children to continue with their education, the Embassy said.
