COVID-19 patient bolts from Homagama Hospital

A COVID-19 patient warded at the Homagama Base Hospital escaped twice on Friday (14), but was later found, Police said. The patient had escaped at about 3:00 p.m. and was found near a house close to the Galawilawatta Railway Station, located 500 metres from the hospital. The patient had fled from the hospital for the first time at 6:00 a.m. on Friday and was found near a house in the vicinity of the hospital. He was located and brought back to the same ward, Police said. Police said this 28-yearold patient, a resident of Ragama, had been admitted about eight days ago. Police said legal action will be instituted against the patient under quarantine laws. Investigations are being conducted on the instructions of Chief Inspector of Police of the Homagama Police Headquarters.
