Covid-19 : Inmate deaths rise to eight

An inmate who had been infected with Covid-19 died last night (13).
Accordingly, the number of infected persons who died in prisons has increased to eight. The total number of infected persons in prisons has risen to 4,144, with 129 officers among them.
Prisons Commissioner Chandana Ekanayake stated that 3,850 inmates and 123 officers have so far recovered from the virus while 285 inmates and 6 officers are currently being treated.
