COVID-19 situation in Colombo 'somewhat out of control': Upul Rohana
Control of the spread of COVID-19 in the Colombo Municipal Council area is "somewhat out of control," President of the Association of Public Health Inspectors, Upul Rohana, stated.
When contacted, he said that a large number of COVID-19 patients have been reported from Maradana, Grand Pass and Mattakkuliya areas.
He further stated that due to the increasing number of cases, it has become extremely difficult to find out details regarding the places visited by their relatives.
"This situation is not simple. When a large number of cases are reported, it is very difficult to locate their close contacts. This is the prevailing situation in the Colombo Municipal Council area. If the cases continue to rise, PHIs will not be enough to track down close associates of COVID-19 infected persons," he added.
