COVID-19: 878 cases reported yesterday, highest in a single day

A total of 878 COVID-19 infected persons were identified in the country yesterday (2), and this is the highest number of cases reported within a single day.
The Government Information Department stated that all the infected persons identified yesterday are linked to the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda COVID-19 clusters.
The total number of COVID-19 cases emerged from the Minuwangoda Apparel factory and Peliyagoda fish market clusters have increased to 21,861.
The Epidemiology Unit stated that about 400 infected persons have been reported from the Colombo District, increasing the number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Colombo District to 10,000.
