COA begins using video technology for proceedings
The Court of Appeal yesterday (18) began conducting proceedings through video technology taking into consideration the current situation in the country.
In the face of the current epidemic situation in the country, an online trial system has been launched using the internet as an alternative to expediting cases in the Judiciary.
In line with this process, steps are being taken to implement a comprehensive judicial automation project covering all courts in the country. The proposed system would include an automated case filing system, a court management system, and a court recording system.
The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka has been appointed as the consultant for this project.
