Local product to supply electricity to elephant fences
A Ministerial Consultative Committee on Wildlife and Forest Conservation has been told that the energizer used thus far at a high expense to supply electricity to elephant fences could be produced by a private company in Sri Lanka at a cost of Rs. 76,300 per unit.
Minister of Wildlife and Forest Conservation C. B. Rathnayake raised this matter at the committee's meeting at the Parliamentary complex.
Introducing the product on behalf of Nano Vision Anuradhapura Pvt. Ltd. under the guidance of the Institute of Industrial Technology, G. V. K Samaranayake said that about 400 of these devices have already been sold.
He claimed that this device can cover a distance of about ten kilometers.
Minister Rathnayake instructed the officials that immediate action be taken to further test the technical accuracy of this device in order to use it.
