Control and prevention of COVID-19: WB pledges to back SL
The World Bank's (WB) South Asia Regional Director, Faris Haddad Servos, during a meeting with Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, said the island had a very successful programme and the World Bank would extend all necessary assistance towards its control and prevention of COVID- 19. He observed that the measures taken by the Sri Lankan health sector to control Covid-19 were particularly successful compared with other countries in the world.
Wanniarachchi said, she appreciated the support extended by the World Bank at the commencement of the spread of the corona virus in Sri Lanka.
Resident Manager, World Bank of Sri Lanka Chiyo Kanda, Senior Specialist in Public Health Services, World Bank Project Dr. Deepika Attygala and Health Secretary Major General Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe were also present. (DJ)
