Conspiracy Hatched to Destroy SLFP – Prof. Piyadasa
By Buddhika Samaraweera
A conspiracy is being hatched to destroy the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and its leaders, and certain matters mentioned in the final report of Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday bombings, regarding former President Maithripala Sirisena, is part of that conspiracy, claimed the Party’s Senior Vice President, Prof. Rohana Luxman Piyadasa.
“This Commission has made allegations against the former President and recommended action against him. But there are reports in history where these terrorists were paid salaries. The Commission has not looked into these and come up with anything, “he said.
Speaking at a Media briefing in Kandy, he further said that instead of properly investigating the Easter Sunday bombings and the suspects involved, it appeared that the Commission had prepared the report targeting the SLFP Chairman, Sirisena. However, I call on all forces in this country to join us in opposing these attempts to destroy the SLFP and hunt down our party leadership,” he added.
