Committee Stage debate on Budget continues for 10th day
The Committee Stage Debate on the 2021 Appropriation Bill is scheduled to be held today (3) for the 10th day.
Expenditure of the Ministry of Defense and the State Ministry of Internal Affairs/ Home Affairs and Disaster Management will be taken up for debate at Parliament today.
Expenditures of four ministries, including the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, were to be taken up for debate yesterday (02).
Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa read the Appropriation Bill in Parliament on 17 November. It is considered to be the 75th budget proposal, and proposes to allocate Rs. 2,678 billion for public service expenditure for the financial year 2021 and to obtain loans no more than Rs. 2,900 billion, from domestic or foreign sources.
