Champika Working to Divide Catholic Bishops – Pradeep Sanjeewa
Chief Convener of the ‘Sinhalaye National Organisation’, Pradeep Sanjeewa, charged SJB MP Patali Champika Ranawaka and a few others had hatched a conspiracy to divide the Catholic Bishops of Sri Lanka.
He also alleged that Ranawaka has been working overtime to cause a serious rift between the majority Buddhists and Christians in this country. He stated that if by any chance a feud were to emerge between the Buddhists and the Christians in Sri Lanka, those behind its orchestration, including MP Ranawaka, should be held directly accountable for their covert and sinister actions.
Sanjeewa stated that information had come to light that a person identified as Heshan Malaka had organised a meeting between Ranawaka, who is harbouring hopes of becoming the President in 2025 and a few Catholic Bishops, who are themselves clamouring to become the next Cardinal of Sri Lanka.
He further charged that Ranawaka and certain Catholic Bishops are working hand-in-glove to cause a division within the country’s Catholic lobby. Sanjeewa who made this revelation during a media conference held recently, also released a voice tape containing a conversation between the controversial SJB MP and a Catholic Priest.
