CFSL AGM on 6 November

Parakrama Basnayake, former President of Sri Lanka Carrom Federation (CFSL), and Susantha Fernando, former Vice President of CFSL, will contest for the top post at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 6 November at the Duncan White Auditorium Sports Ministry.

Basnayake, Fernando and J.A.R. Rodrigo submitted their nominations for the post of President, but Rodrigo’s name was rejected by the Election Committee headed by retired Assistant Customs Director General Dharmasena Kahadawa as there were a few objections raised against him.

Two nominations were received for the post of Secretary – Daya Vidanagama and Langley Matthysz. However, Langley Matthysz’s name was rejected by the Election Committee and Daya Vidanagama was elected to the post uncontested. 

Sunanada Kodagoda was elected uncontested for the post of Treasurer. Amitha Wickramasinghe (Tournament Secretary) and Kamala Abeyweera (Assistant Treasurer) were also elected uncontested. 

Lasantha Chaminda Fernando and P.G. Saman Peiris will contest for the post of Asst. Secretary.  

Seven candidates will contest for the five Vice President’s post, while 13 are seeking office in a ten-member Committee.
