CEB to receive fuel to ensure uninterrupted power supply
The Ceylon Electricity Board will receive 1,500 metric tonnes of fuel a day to generate electricity after the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation agreed to make the supplies.
CEB media spokesman Andrew Navamani said an uninterrupted power supply could be ensured with the availability of the fuel.
The agreement is for the CPC to make the supplies daily until 18 January, after which a decision is due on future supplies.
It has previously said that it was unable to supply fuel on credit to the CEB.
