News Cases to be heard via video streaming

The Court of Appeal was given the green light, by the Ministry of Justice on 18 January, to hear cases via video streaming,. The decision was taken to facilitate Court hearings while adhering to COVID-19 regulations.

The Courts use the Lanka Government Network to link up with 28 prisons, to allow cases to be heard remotely. This initiative was launched in partnership with The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA).
