Archbishop of Colombo, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, has decided not to meet any politician, until a copy of the report filed by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) into the Easter Sunday terror attacks in 2019, is submitted to him.
Sources from the Archbishop’s House in Colombo stated that until the PCoI report is handed over to the Cardinal, the latter has decided not to meet any politician in the country.
Due to this situation, a meeting planned for 2 March between Catholic MPs from Government and Opposition parties with the Cardinal at the Archbishop’s House has also been deferred indefinitely.
