CAA sets dengue lab test charges

The Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has announced the revised charges for laboratory tests for dengue.
Through the publication of an Extraordinary Gazette Notification that has been issued a sum of Rs 1,200 would be charged to carry out the nonstructural protein 1 test (NSI Antigen Test) for dengue and the issuance of the report while a sum of Rs 400 would be levied for carrying out and the issuance of the Full Blood Count Test.
Head of the CAA, retired Major General Shantha Dissanayaka said no fees should be levied in excess of the amounts stipulated in the Extraordinary Gazette Notification to conduct these tests and the issue of reports.
