Budget 2022 passed

The Third Reading of the Appropriation Bill 2022 was passed with a majority of 93 votes on Friday (10).
The voting took place at 6:05 p.m. A total of 157 voted in favour to 64 against.
Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa presented the Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill (Budget Speech) for the year 2022 on 12 November.
The Second Reading Debate of the Appropriation Bill continued for seven days from 13 November. This Bill was passed with a majority of 93 votes. 153 were cast in favour to 60 against.
The Committee Stage Debate on the Bill commenced on 23 November and continued for 16 days until Friday (10).
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena endorsed the Bill on the same day (10).
