Buddhist monks urge President to take steps against statements by Justice Minister

A group of eminent Buddhist monks have directed a letter to the President with regard to statements of Minister of Justice Ali Sabry in Parliament.
The letter alleges that the statement by Minister Ali Sabry with regard to Buddhist Temporalities, which he states is a personalised law of the country, is wrong.
The letter cites several legal publications and points out that personalized laws of the country only include Kandyan law, Thesawalami law and the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act.
