Dharanee Upeka Weerasekara launches fourth book, 'Fear and Tears'
‘Fear and Tears’, Dharanee Upeka Weerasekara’s fourth book and debut novel, was launched recently.
The novel, which falls under the Suspense Thriller category, tells the story of Prabash, a talented law student trying to find the perpetrators behind the murder of his father, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, after years of silence.
Weerasekara, an Attorney-at-Law, graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, and joined Sri Lanka Administrative Service in 2017. She currently serves as an Assistant Commissioner of Elections (Legal) at the Election Commission.
The author's first book, titled ‘Bermudawen Wishwayata’, was a work of adventure fiction that won third place at the National Youth Awards Festival, and the Wayamba Literary Award for the Best Children’s Fiction of the Year.
She has also published a short story collection titled ‘Mandaram Andura Medin’ and a poetry collection tiled ‘Mage Pem Wahi Lihini.’
‘Fear and Tears’, published by KBOOKS Publishers, may be purchased from their stall K-383/384 at the Colombo International Book Fair, which will be held from 18-27 September.
