Local Asymptomatic COVID infectees to be treated at home

It has been decided that asymptomatic COVID-19 infectees will be monitored and receive treatment within their residences from Monday (17).

State Minister  of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control, Sudarshini Fernandopulle confirmed that the operation will be monitored by the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

Dr. Fernandopulle explained that this measure was taken as a resort to the ongoing issue of overcrowded hospitals and treatment centres across Sri Lanka, adding that in the event an asymptomatic patient develops complications, they will be admitted to a treatment facility for further treatment.
