Ashan’s cameo steers Northern Warriors to final

Unbeaten Super Fashion Northern Warriors continued their winning streak when they outplayed Event TV Western Warriors by 5 wickets, and booked their slot in the final (with two matches to spare) of the Army Commander’s League T20 Cricket Tournament conducted by the Sports Committee and Cricket Committee of Sri Lanka Army at the Army grounds Dombagoda yesterday. 

Chasing a modest target of 131 runs, Northern Warriors left hand opener Ashan Randika was the hero with the bat with a valuable 76 runs in 31 balls, which included 6 boundaries and 6 sixes. Seekkuge Prasanna also chipped in with an all-round performance. He scored 26 runs and scalped 3 wickets for just 23 runs. 

The pair added 62 runs for the second wicket, which helped seal an easy win. For Western Warriors, Kaveesha Kumara was the highest run scorer with 32 runs. None of the batsmen were among the runs.
