As the new variant of COVID-19 has begun to spread rapidly in Hong Kong, its Government has decided to repatriate all Sri Lankan expats workers who had completed their service contracts.

Sources said some 4,000 Sri Lankan expats were employed in Hong Kong and of this number a majority had completed their service contracts.

However, those whose service contracts are due to expire by 31 March are to have their contracts extended by the HK Government for a period of 90 days.
