Colombo Chief Magistrate Mohammad Mihal yesterday (18) issued arrest warrants on CMC member Kulatissa Geekiyanage and nine other suspects for failing to appear in Court in connection with a case filed on charges of illegal entry to the premises of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development.
The Chief Magistrate ordered the CCD to apprehend the suspects and produce them before him forthwith.
Ex-Minister Arjuna Ranatunga was present in Court to give evidence while further proceedings were deferred to 23 April.
The CCD had filed charges against Geekiyanage and nine others on charges of unlawful entry and illegal assembly to the said Ministry premises on 28 October three years ago.
