Another consignment of AstraZeneca vaccine to arrive in SL
Another consignment of AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive in Sri Lanka on Saturday (07).
The Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akira Sugiyama said the relevant consignment is a donation from Japan at the personal request of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to the Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.
Ambassador Sugiyama expressed his views while handing over the previous consignment of 728,460 doses, which arrived in the country on 31 July, to the President at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (02).
The Ambassador, the World Health Organisation and UNICEF representatives praised the President for his direct involvement in leading the vaccination program within several hours of receiving the stock of vaccines on Saturday.
