ADB commits US$ 2.7B for SL for next three years
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has made a total lending commitment of US$ 2.7 billion for Sri Lanka for the next three-year period (2021-2023).
According to the ADB, of the total commitment, 30.5 per cent was for transport sector, 25.3 per cent was for education sector, 15.4 per cent was for energy sector, 12.4 per cent was for health sector, 11.2 per cent was for water and other urban infrastructure and services, and 5.2 per cent was for agriculture sector.
The largest commitment (US$ 631.35 million) was for the transport sector, while the smallest commitment (US$ 107.64 million) was for the agriculture sector.
Of the total amount, US$ 1.78 billion are firm commitments.
