Action against 111 inmates – Prisons Dept

The Prisons Department will file charges against 111 inmates involved in the Mahara Prison riot before a Prisons Department Board. The damage caused by the unrest last November has cost millions of rupees in to the State.
Prisons Department Media Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said, a Committee consisting of two jailors had been formed to probe the incident and added the vandals had been identified during the probe.
