Access Engineering PLC completes SLTC Research Centre

Access Engineering PLC successfully completed construction of the Academic and Research Centre of Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) at Padukka. This is the second significant project awarded to Access Engineering PLC (AEL) by SLTC.And the scope of work included the construction of the two-storey research centre along with amenities.

The research centre is designed utilising the existing landscape with minimum excavation and clearance of natural fauna and flora around the site. The building will be equipped with state-of-the art facilities incorporated with environment-friendly and energy-efficient features. This project aims to provide lecture facilities to 1,200 students together with modern facility equipped multi-disciplinary centre with a canteen and an endless rooftop garden surrounded by the eco-friendly environment.

Project Manager AEL, Senarath Bandara said, “We encountered many challenges during rainy seasons as the site got flooded often but we ensured to maintain the eco-friendly construction procedures so that the environment is not harmed. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic situation also delayed the timely completion of the project due to material and labour shortage. However; with the contribution and commitment of the team we successfully completed the project creating new avenues to our future generation.”
