64-acre land handed over to SPC for new pharmaceutical factory
The handing over of 64 acres of land to the State Pharmaceutical Corporation for the construction of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing premises took place at the Ministry of Urban Development in Battaramulla today (29).
Accordingly, the plot of land belonging to the Urban Development Authority in the Horana-Millewa area has been handed over and the State Pharmaceutical Corporation, which is to construct its second pharmaceutical production premises.
It has been proposed to set up five new factories, starting with the manufacturing of stent tubes, contact lenses and orthopedic instruments for cancer medicine and hydrotherapy.
Construction work on the factory premises will commence soon and will be completed within two years at a cost of Rs. 8 billion.
