52 arrested at a rave in Medirigiriya

Police arrested 52 youth who were partying at a hotel in Medirigiriya area using drugs and in violation of COVID-19 regulations. 

According to Police, the partygoers included 39 boys and 13 girls. The Medirigiriya Police said  the youth had been handed over to their parents and were given a stern warning. 

However, they have been summoned to appear in Court next Tuesday (26) on charges of violating COVID-19 regulations.  Meanwhile, three youths who were using cannabis during the party were arrested. They were produced before Court yesterday (18).
