31 Vavuniya Campus students contract COVID-19

Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) said 31 students in Jaffna University’s Faculty of Science – Vavuniya Division had tested positive for COVID-19 following Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) conducted on 12 May. Sources said initially two students had contracted the virus and following RATs done on the entire student population living on campus, 31 were identified as COVID-19 positive. A total of 60 student live on campus and half of that number had contracted the virus.
