2021 Budget Debate: COPE to meet for eight days
The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) is scheduled to meet for eight days throughout the 2021 Budget Debate, Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Charitha Herath said yesterday (23).
The Committee sittings will be held from today (24) to 26 November and on 3, 4, 8 and 9 December.
Officials at the Lakvijaya Power Plant have been summoned before the COPE today to inquire about its environmental impact.
The Environmental Audit Report on water pollution of the Kelani River is scheduled to be discussed on 26 November.
The present status in the field of foreign employment will be examined on 3 December, while procurement relating to the printing and delivery of lottery tickets in 2016 is scheduled to be discussed on 4 December.
The role played by the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (Private) Limited relating to the digitalisation of the public service is scheduled for 8 December, while the performance of the Paddy Marketing Board is scheduled for 9 December.
