Oddamavadi MOH, Dr. M.H.M. Tharique, on Sunday (16), said 18 persons who were randomly selected from 150 travel restriction violators tested positive to COVID-19 following Rapid Antigen Tests. As more COVID-19 patients were detected from the MOH area, despite travel restrictions, Rapid Antigen Tests and PCR tests are being conducted on persons suspected to have been infected with COVID-19, Dr. Tharique said. Persons who failed to wear face masks and to follow health guidelines were among those who were subjected to random tests, he said. "PHIs, MOH Office staff, the Valaichchenai Police and the Tri-Forces are extending support to conduct these tests,” he said. He also instructed the public to take adequate precaution to protect themselves and others from this pandemic and to follow health guidelines.
