The Cabinet agreed to declare 16 August as National Logistics Day, to be marked each year beginning in 2021, and to produce a commemorative stamp to celebrate the occasion this year, Co-Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, told the weekly Cabinet Media briefing yesterday (3) at the Department of Government Information.
He said logistics is the efficient and effective management of all supplies in a country, and that problems such rising commodity prices arise if relevant processes are not managed properly. Pathirana added that he believes it is important to designate a National Logistics Day to educate the public about the process.
