10 suspects linked to Easter Sunday Attack released
Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya yesterday (19) ordered the release of 10 suspects who worked at the Wellampitiya Copper Factory belonging to millionaire businessman Mohamed Ibrahim Insaf who committed suicide during the Easter Sunday attacks.
The suspects were released after the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) requested court to release the suspects in accordance with the Attorney General's instructions that no further legal action would be taken against the suspects.
Accordingly, at the request of the plaintiff, the Court acquitted the ten suspects and ordered the termination of proceedings in the case.
The Wellampitiya Police conducted a search operation at the Wellampitiya Copper Factory after the easter bombing and arrested 10 suspects after questioning them.
