Sri Lanka to import COVID pills for treatment
The Government has decided to import the Molnupiravir capsule, the first pill designed to treat COVID-infected persons.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (26) directed State Minister Channa Jayasumana to import the drug through the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
He also instructed health authorities deploy mobile services to administer the booster shot to all persons aged 60 years or above.
Also, the booster shot will be given to all persons aged over 20 years with various health complications, such as cancer and non-communicable diseases.
Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, said the third dose would be given at the relevant clinic or divisional MOH office every Saturday.
