SLPP’s Manju Lalith Warnakumara takes oaths as MP
Sri Lanka Podujana Permauna's (SLPP) Manju Lalith Warnakumara took oaths as a Member of Parliament for the Kalutara District this morning (01).
Warnakumara was sworn in before Deputy Speaker Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, filling the seat left vacant following MP Mahinda Samarasinghe's resignation.
He resigned as an MP to take up the post of ambassador to the United States of America.
Warnakumara, with 46,361 preferential votes polled at the 2020 General Election from Kalutara district, was the next on the list for the position.
