SLAF organizes two-leg friendly rugby match

The Minister of Youth and Sports, State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development, Namal Rajapaksa, has entrusted the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) to come up with an initiative to revive rugby.

With that in mind and under the directives of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, the SLAF rugby team is scheduled to play a friendly two match series against CH&FC. The first leg will be on 13 August and the second leg on 20 August.

The Maligapitiya Stadium will be declared open after renovation on 13 August and will be the venue for the first friendly encounter. The second friendly encounter is scheduled to be held at the SLAF Ratmalana Ground.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will grace both events as the Chief Guest.

All precautions with respect to the prevention of COVID-19 issued by the Ministry of Health will be strictly adhered.
