News Rs 9.4M Allocated to Rebuild Hindu Temples

The Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, coming under the purview of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, has set aside Rs 9.4 million to rebuild the Hindu Temples registered at the Department of Hindu Religious and Cultural Affairs under the ‘Visions of Prosperity’ programme. The Temples are located in Alayadivembu, Thirukkovil and Pottuvil Divisional Secretariat areas. 

At a ceremony held at the Auditorium of the Thirukkovil Divisional Secretariat under the patronage of Ampara District Additional Government Agent V. Jegatheeswaran, Thirukkovil Divisional Secretary T. Kajendran is seen here handing over a cheque to Mrs. Jegatheesan, Trustee of Sri Vallipuram Hindu Temple of Pottuvil, while Thirukkovil Divisional Secretary, Assistant Divisional Secretary K. Sathisekaran, Managing Director of Thirunavukkarasu Nayanar Gurukulam, Kana Rajaratnam and Cultural Officers were present.
