By Buddhika Samaraweera
Minister of Public Security, Rear Admiral (Retired) Sarath Weerasekera has called for a report from the CID regarding claims that the reports of the investigations conducted into the suspects of the Easter Sunday bombings are incomplete.
He said an inquiry was made from the CID in this regard and that CID Officers are scheduled to meet him this week. Further details can be given after that, he said. Attorney General Dappula de Livera had recently written to IGP Chandana Wickramaratne, stating the evidence regarding 42 suspects of the bombings should be confirmed in writing, and that the investigations on five other suspects were incomplete. He also said it would not be possible to file cases against the suspects before the end of his term as the Attorney General.
