No room for corruption in Rajapaksa Govt – Anuruddha
State Minister of Rural Housing, Construction and Building Materials Industries Promotion Indika Anuruddha said there will be no room for bribery and corruption in the Rajapaksa-led Government.
He said the Government is striving to build the Nation by giving priority to domestic production. The State Minister alleged that some persons without knowing anything about the Kerawalapitiya LNG Power Plant agreement with a US company are spreading rumours that the Government had signed the agreement at midnight.
“The Government doesn’t need to do so. We are still discussing the pros and cons of this project,” the State Minister said. State Minister Anuruddha made these observations participating as the Chief Guest at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the weekly fair in Divulapitiya.
The State Minister added that those who criticise the Government for not importing luxury vehicles and phones are not talking about buying the COVID-19 vaccines today. He said the Government takes such steps to save human lives, as more foreign currency is required to buy vaccines. Divulapitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Indika Jayasinghe, Deputy Chairman Ranjith Munasinghe and several PS members were present.
