News India’s Southern Naval Chief meets SLN Commander

Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval CommandIndian Navy, Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka met Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) CommanderVice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at SLN Headquarters Colombo yesterday (25). Six training ships of the 1st Training Squadron of the Indian Navy arrived in Sri Lanka for a bilateral naval exercise on Sunday (24 October) and Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla’s four-day official visit to the island coincided with the above event. 

Chawla was first received at SLN Headquarters by a Guard of Honour. Chawlais also scheduled to meet Sri Lanka’s Foreign Secretary, Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF)Commander and SLN commanders of the Eastern and Southern Naval Areas as well. Further, Chawla will attend several programmes at the National Defence College and Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee. He is scheduled to leave the island on Thursday (28 October).
