Business Conditional permission to issue domestic gas cylinders

The two suppliers have been permitted to issue domestic LP gas cylinders to the market from tomorrow (05) under three conditions, says the Consumer Affairs Authority.

A technical committee had issued these recommendations based on test reports on the composition of LP gas.

Both Litro and Laugfs have been asked not to issue previously imported gas cylinders and the chemical ‘Mercaptan’ (also known as methanethiol) made mandatory in cylinders to detect odors according to standards.

Also, one out of every 100 gas cylinders is to be inspected during the manufacturing process and the serial number given to the CAA.
