$250M tender given to China sans proper tender criteria – JVP Convener
BY ANURADA HERATH
The Convener of the Voice against Corruption JVP member, Wasantha Samarasinghe charged that the Government has granted a US$250 million tender to China sans proper tender criteria to facilitate the supply of machines and related apparatus to Government institutions and Local Government bodies.
He said, during the procurement process those who had submitted tenders had made an order to supply Rs 20,000 million during a four-year period.
He said with the decision taken by the Government to grant the tender to Beijing they had prevented those who had placed tenders from being involved in the tender process.
