United World Wrestling (UWW) appointed top HR and administrative professional Sandamali Chandrasena of Sri Lanka as a committee member of Sports for All Commission for a term of five years with effect from January 2022 (https://uww.org/about uww/commission/sports-all-commission).She has been selected from over 185 countries.
At present Sandamali is assistant treasurer of the Sri Lanka wrestling Federation. UWW selected her after evaluation of her academic and professional qualifications along with her professional experience.
Sandamali is a BA (Hons)Business Management and MBA degree holder and completed a woman lead sports Master’s programme conducted by UWW. She also completed a sports administrators’ course conducted by the National Olympic Committee. Currently, she is working as HR and administration manager
Sandamali said, she is delighted to take on her new position at the Committee of Sports for All and looks forward to giving a hearing to the women administrative and sports community voice. Sandamali also intends to encourage multidisciplinary collaboration. Through long-term work her objective is to achieve exceptional results of the strategic plan of wrestling by youth engagement, women wrestling, associated styles, image of styles and digital transformation.
