President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who left the island to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, arrived in London on 17 September.
The President was welcomed by Ben Mellor, Director, India and Indo Pacific Ocean Directorate of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Dave Easton, Deputy Lieutenant, and Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Saroja Sirisena.
The President, who will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on 19 September, is scheduled to return to the island on 21 September.
Several ministries under the purview of the President have been assigned to five Acting Ministers.
Accordingly, Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon has been appointed as the Acting Minister of Defence, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya as the Acting Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilisation and National Policy, Geetha Kumarasinghe as the Acting Minister of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment, Kanaka Herath as the Acting Minister of Technology, and Dilum Amunugama as the Acting Minister of Investment Promotion.
