Royal Panadura crush Lyceum Nugegoda

Royal Panadura entered the final of the Under-17 division 2 inter schools cricket tournament when they beat Lyceum International School Nugegoda by 213 runs in the semi-final played at Ananda Shashthralaya Beddagana Kotte on Friday.

 Royal Panadura won the toss and elected to bat and scored 307 runs in 49.3 overs. Kaveesha Perera scored 65 runs and Sehandu Ranmira 60 runs. Other useful contributions came from Sadew Wijerathna (46), Thinal Soysa (45), Rusith Jayawardana (32) and Kushan Dewaka (21). Thejan Induwara claimed 5 wickets for 49 runs. 

Lyceum were bowled out for a meagre 94 runs in 26.4 overs. Thevindu Jayasundara scored 40 runs. Rusith Jayawardane claimed 4 wickets for 23 runs.

Royal will now meet Christ King Ja Ela in the final on 17 September at Thurstan College ground.
