An all-round performance helped England under-19’s register a thrilling 7-run win (D/L method) over Sri Lanka under-19’s in the second ODI to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series played at Worcester on Thursday (08).
Put in to bat, Sri Lanka posted 211 for 6 wickets in 35 overs, and in reply England who chased a revised target of 195 runs in 31.3 overs, reached 202 for 6 wickets with opener George Thomas scoring a match-winning 86 in 82 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes.
Earlier, Ranuda Somaratne (81) and Hasitha Amarasinghe (71) scored half centuries to help Sri Lanka post a decent score.
